Speaking Topics

I absolutely love a captive audience that I can encourage and motivate to open their bibles.  I serve up a healthy portion of God’s Word with a side of humor.  Please contact me to serve as a speaker/teacher for your event.  Below is a list of what I have been talking about.  Contact me even if your topic is not listed because I would love to work with you and your team to make a special message just for you – God is always teaching me new things and giving me creative presentation ideas.

Friendship  – Many counselors agree that they could be replaced if their patient had one good friend. That alone speaks of our need to form meaningful connections with people. In fact, we were made for it. But sometimes our friendships change after big life events such as marriage, having babies or making a career change. Come and laugh (or maybe cringe) as you relate to my friendship confessions. Most importantly you will learn who your perfect Friend is.

Mommy Guilt So much depends on us moms. Learn what it means to parent your kids in faith, not fear. We’ll look at an incredibly deep bible passage and see what it truly means to give our kids to God as we compare Abraham, the father of Isaac from Genesis 22, to Marlin, Nemo’s dad, who finally learned what it meant to “let go”.

Depression: Teaching Your Heart to Sing Again In 2010 the Lord took me through the dungeon of depression.  My dear mother in-law came to help us during that time.  I’ll never forget what she told me,”Don’t worry.  Your heart will sing again.”  It touched me because that is how it felt – my heart stopped singing.  In this message we will look at what depression is and how it affects us physically, emotionally and spiritually.

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. -Psalm 18:16

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. -Psalm 40:3

The Exclusivity of Marriage – We’ll look at problems like flimsy boundaries, over sharing and withholding affection. When we fail to guard our marriage relationship we risk intruders, cheapening the matchless purity and inflicting loneliness. God’s word is clear about protecting the marriage relationship. This message will make you want to say, “Remove the shoes from your feet for you are standing on holy ground!” the next time you walk into your bedroom.

Ready for True Love – We need to show our young women that Jesus is more real than the fairy tale romance stories they grew up watching. Jesus understands us fully, can be trusted completely and defeated a wicked enemy all so that we could follow Him forever. When a woman understands this she fails to be a victim desperately needing a man to rescue her. She knows that she has already been rescued and is ready for true love.

“We didn’t get dressed up for nothing” – These are the words of the burly, red-bearded Hamish, friend of William Wallace in the movie Braveheart.  This is a message about putting on the Armor of God.  We are foolish to leave ourselves vulnerable in the battle when God himself has given us all we need for protection and confidence.  Come and let me help you put on your armor!
